About GobliNews.org
GobliNews.org is a project I started a couple of years ago, but never really managed to get off the ground. So much goes on in the world that the mainstream media doesn't cover. Sometimes it's not deemed newsworthy, other times it's just not popular. There are wars going on around the world we don't hear about on television, there are technologies being developed that are only published in scientific journals, but never make it to the mainstream, there are outstanding artists all over the web that fall into obscurity due to a lack of exposure.
This website aims to bring out these types of stories and to discuss some more mainstream ones. Topics that are unpopular for the mainstream media to address will be addressed as impartially as possible. I don't have an agenda when it comes to reporting the news so you can expect an objective analysis of the topics I (and perhaps eventually others) will address on this site. There will however be times where I will post rants. The rants will be indicated as rants and are pretty subjective, you're free to disagree with them and I would encourage any discussion in the comments below the post.
I don't aim to make money from this site (in fact at the moment at least there is not supposed to be any advertising on it); like I said previously this was simply a personal project that I've finally managed to get started. Prior to making this version of the site, I made one attempt in Microsoft Frontpage and another in Adobe Dreamweaver. Both of those versions seemed lacking to me and so in the free time I've had since I've graduated from university, I've taught myself some of the basics of web design and the site you now see was created mostly from scratch using notepad-style text editors and various imaging programs. For this reason, I would greatly appreciate any input regarding any bugs and glitches you may encounter on the site.
That's all I have to say about the site, I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I will enjoy writing it (and I hope that's a lot).
